Born in Brazil in 1987, Volmir Cordeiro has been a contemporary dancer since 2004, working in particular under Alejandro Ahmed (Grupo Cena11) and Lia Todrigues (Pororoca, Ce dont nous sommes fait, Formas breves and Incarnat). In 2011 he earned his degree in theatre studies in Rio and began the Essais Masters programme at the Centre National de Danse Contemporain d’Angers (CNDC). His first solo choreography, Ciel, was staged at the CNDC in May 2012. He has worked with choreographers Emmanuelle Huynh and Xavier Le Roy. This year he began a doctoral programme in dance at Université Paris VIII with the support of the Foundation CAPES of Brazil.
