Since opening in 2001, Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers have gradually built up a specialised, singular collection of contemporary art books. Les Laboratoires pay special attention to documenting and archiving the projects carried out at the centre, and over the years they have put together an invaluable resource which serves as a testament to artistic creation in today’s international context. The Bibliothèque des Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers is open for public use during regular opening times or by appointment and the library catalogue can be accessed on the website.

The Bibliothèque des Laboratoires holds nearly 3000 books. It is a documentary and bibliographic resource on contemporary art for public consultation, including artists’ publications, exhibition catalogues, theoretical works, as well as a constantly evolving collection, added to with each new project supported by Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers. It is more than a documentary collection: it is a living space which serves both as a resource and support for the artistic projects developed at Les Laboratoires and an archive for public consultation, providing a trace of the creative projects developed at the centre and the reflective processes that have drawn on the collection.
