Communisation. Des régimes du visible :
Pratiques de soin et collectifs

Public discussion organized by Josep Rafanell i Orra

For the 2017 edition of Le Printemps des Laboratoires, we intend to retrace the work pursued over past two years in the seminar Partiques de soin et collectifs during which we attempted to bring to light new modes of existence of individual care practices, to share experimentations, and to create occasions for transmitting, and identifying resonances between, different experiences.

Moreover, following an initial workshop, we will be organising a public discussion on Sunday 11th June from 2.30 p.m. We will consider orientations for pursuing the seminar, through which we will continue to map the landscape of singular forms of appropriation of psychiatric/psychotherapeutic and medical care, of our relationship to non-human entities and of emerging sites for the collective…
These exchanges will be attended by certain guest speakers present at previous sessions of the seminar, but also by new participants involved in research, writing, experimentation and political practices. These public discussions will also be an occasion to present a new inquiry and liaison scheme.

As a continuation of the work pursued over the past two years, we will be exploring forms of cooperation and ways of determining our collective experiences, and our desire to appropriate the crafting of our attachments in the atomised space of the metropole.
“Worlds in the making”, to borrow the words of one of our seminar participants last year.
What supports us, what holds us all together?
How might we make practices of political intervention articulate with the assertion of new modes of existence for our individual, singular experiences?
Should we speak of the instituting or rather the establishment of new forms of life of the collective?

At this time of profound decline in all forms of political representation, we set the challenge of asserting experiences of re-appropriation in opposition to the power of representation and the logic of delegation that it enforces. Making the world habitable involves creating different ways of engaging with it by sharing experiences that resist governance. Opposing the administration of space with the emergence of new sites. Opposing the vectorising of a time of disaster with the relative time of relations between beings, both human and non-human. In short, connecting us to one another. But this implies establishing links across heterogeneous modes of existence.

Establishing the principle of difference is the necessary condition for asserting collective forms of life. Here you have a minimal definition of a politics of the commons.
