Screening of the Alain Michard and Loïc Touzé Films
Monday 30th October 2017, 8:00 p.m.

Prior to final En danseuse event at Les Laboratoires - scheduled on Friday 3rd November - Michard wanted to organise a screening of two films looking at movement in relation to mobility, immobility, narrative and travel: an opportunity to offer the public two rarely available films opening up new perspectives on the relationships with movement that spring up when image meets dance.

The screenings will be followed by a discussion between the audience and the two directors/dancers/choreographers.

Clandestine
(2014)
feature length fiction film directed by Alain Michard - color, 67’

Clandestine is the story of five solitudes that learn to live together.
The time is the present, and an old lady becomes a taxi driver. Her taxi, both illegal and shared, is the sole locus of the film's action, with passengers in transit as the elements of an instant story. In the midst of a transport strike, a Dutch passenger who has to get back to his mother involves the taxi driver and her other passengers in an unplanned trip from Paris to Holland. Against a backdrop of Paris and the landscapes of the north, five lonely people, with the old lady at their centre, opt for a a one-off journey, a stolen break in the midst of the everyday. Following the same impulse, they seize on this moment of grace as the chance for a tiny adventure – one they realise will be beautifully intense precisely because it is strictly temporary.
