Sale Docks is an independent art space in Venice. It is located in the historical city of Venice, hosted by the ancient building of the former Salt Storages of the Serenissima Republic. We are a group of artists and activists and we squatted S.a.L.E. in 2007. From that moment on we have been organizing exhibitions, seminars, and cultural events privileging those experiences where art isn’t considered a luxury commodity, but  an instrument to radically transform reality. We have been working with very unknown and very famous artists. A part from exhibitions, we still consider ourselves as an anomaly in the  Venitian art scene. We participated  to the protests of the exploited Biennale workers in 2009, we organized direct actions against the opening of the museum of the billionaire Francois Pinault and we are an active subject in a national network of squatted spaces.
