UIQ (the unmaking-of)
light enough to see by

by Graeme Thomson and Silvia Maglioni

For the public opening of their residency common infra/ctions at Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Silvia Maglioni and Graeme Thomson propose a collective listening of their electro-acoustic soundwork, UIQ (the unmaking-of ― light enough to see by. This soundpiece, or invisible film, recombines material recorded during various seeances held in different cities during which groups of seers shared their visions of an unmade sci-fi script by Félix Guattari, Un amour d’UIQ, and its protagonist, the Infra-quark Universe.

The work was co-commissioned by The Showroom and The Otolith Collective, with the support of Arts Council England and Fluxus. Seeances were hosted and supported by black tulip/espacio practico (Barcelona), ZdB (Lisbon), Univerzita Karlova/Druna (Prague), no.w.here (London), Casco (Utrecht), Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers (Aubervilliers) and Bulegoa z/b (Bilbao), and by all the seers who gave their time and visions.
