Case study by Émilie Parendeau and Benjamin Seror (artists). To continue and expand a conversation that the two artists Émilie Parendeau and Benjamin Seror have raised for several years about art and related activities, how it is passed on and distributed, the two artists have gathered together a group of students from the Valence art school to put into action one of Claude Rutault’s 16 exhibitions/methods , number 13, which tells us that an exhibition doesn’t just fall into your lap. Discussion with Adva Zakai and Yael Davids (artists). The organization of society within a Kibbutz relies on education that encourages invention and creation, experimentation with a new configuration of collective living, opening up a fairly large reflexive space. But what space does an artist occupy in a Kibbutz? Is art seen there as work like other types of work? What are the lines of this movement and what possibility is there to develop a critical view? Starting from their personal experiences of having grown up on a Kibbutz, two artists, Adva Zakai and Yael Davids will attempt to explore the effervescent or contradictory relationships that tie the (individual?) figure of the artist to the (collective) community.

4.00 pm. Mrs. Šedá, do you think you're normal? Presentation by Katerina Šedá on her work.
Katerina Šedá has developed her artistic research over the past ten years around the idea of the collective, community(ies) and sharing her work. Through a detailed presentation of a selection of her projects, Katerina Šedá will attempt to analyse the personal motivations that come into play in her projects and the impact that her actions can have on daily life. This analysis of her work does not only include documentation by the artist but also a selection of recorded opinions of participants and amateurs with whom she has collaborated on several projects. Katerina Šedá will be invited to develop a project at les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers in January 2015.
