Stephen Wright teaches the practice of theory at the European School of Visual Art [École Européenne Supérieure de l’Image (Angoulême/Poitiers)], where he is also academic advisor for the Document and Contemporary Art research programme. His own research focuses in particular on artistic practices on a 1:1 scale, investigating the preconditions for the creation and use of an art devoid of works, artists and viewers, i.e. deliberately stripped of any event horizon. In 2013 he published Toward a Lexicon of Usership, a kind of «glossary of uses» aimed at rethinking the vocabulary and conceptual institutions inherited from modernity in the light of the usological turn of the last ten years. The French edition of the book will appear late in 2015.
